Jasper William 'JW' Joyner

Mr. Jasper William “J.W” Joyner, age 87, formerly of Seaboard, NC died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC.

Mr. Joyner was born July 5, 1927, the son of the late Isacc Henry Joyner and Myrtie Turner Joyner. He was also predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Eloise Drewett Joyner.

Mr. Joyner was a World War II Army Veteran. He attended A and E Airplane Mechanic’s School and served his country in Munich, Germany as an airplane mechanic.

He was a faithful member of Seaboard Baptist Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and a member of the church choir for over 50 years. He also sang in the Northampton Men’s Choir for several years. He was also a member of the Seaboard Lions Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Anne J. Beale and son-in-law Mack of Greenville, NC and Nancy J. Wade and her husband Ronnie of Dunn, NC. His sister, Virginia J. Crawley of Bladenboro, NC. His grandchildren, Dean Wade and his wife Jill, Megan Beale Wamer and husband Timmy and James Beale. Six great grandchildren, Kealey and Ashtyn Wade, Joel, Conner and Anna Grace Wamer and Isabella Beale. Also a very special caregiver, Dee Metcatee.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Seaboard Baptist Church in Seaboard, NC with Rev. Richard Gaskins officiating. Burial will follow at Seaboard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church, prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seaboard Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Massey Funeral Home, Jackson, NC.
