Mrs. Dorothy Lucille Carroll Sanderson, age 75, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Dorothy was born January 4, 1940, the daughter of the late John Willie Carroll and Octavia Bell Carroll. She was also predeceased by her husband Willie Morrison Sanderson and a son Donald Wayne Sanderson.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenda Poythress (Donnie Spence) and Melinda Walker (William), both of Roanoke Rapids. Melissa Sanderson (Dwane Writtenbury) of Gasburg, VA. Her son, Ronnie Sanderson of Gasburg, VA. Four grandchildren, Tiffany Poythress, Brittany Sanderson, Beth Walker, and Ronnie Wayne Sanderson. Five great grandchildren, Kenlyn Crowder, Camryn Beckleman, Nathan Colbert, Damian McGlothin and Aleigha McKenize Grant.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at
Fresh Fire Assembly of God Church with Pastor Chris Howerton officiating.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
